City are always interested in any top class player and you can be sure they'll be sniffing around at the very least.

Re: Declan Rice- game changer or bit of a disappointment?
Cap - It's a reasonable point you make, but I think Rice will stay in England, and clubs here know what he can and can't do, so I don't think top draw performances for England in the next month will persuade them to pay more than what they already think he's worth, and besides we have 3 fairly weak opposition in the group games so we might only play one or two top sides out there anyway.

Both.

I know he never mentioned Liverpool, I just threw that in.

Obviously we are just speculating, who knows what will happen, but for me it's a no for Man City and Liverpool, as for a top European club do you really think a Barca or a Madrid are going to pay 100 mil up for a DM? It's not happening.

He will likely end up at Chelsea, if not Man utd.

Re: Declan Rice- game changer or bit of a disappointment?
His price is going to be in large part determined by how he does in the World Cup. He dominates midfields then it will stay sky high.

It's always a shop window and there are usually some big moves for the tournament stars.

liverpool want bellingham, though I'm not sure they'll get him with the owner situation unclear

Do you agree with Gilmore that City won't be interested in Rice?

He never mentioned Liverpool.

Or do you agree with Gilmore that a 'top' European club won't be interested in Rice?

"is Rice great because we play defensive"

no, he's far better when the negative cunt takes off the handbrake and let's declan play, much horse face gareth did from the germany game onwards. don't blame the player because of the deficiencies of that anti football dinosaur

Re: Declan Rice- game changer or bit of a disappointment?
Agree with gilmore, there has never been anything to suggest City or Liverpool have any interest in Rice at all, so no he won't be able to pick where he goes at all. We ain't getting anywhere near 150 mil for him either, when he goes to Chelsea.

The two things that every defensive midfielder needs.

He'll be able to pick where he goes when he leaves us. Will end up at a top top club- or Chelsea, if he's got more sentiment than sense.

Er, right, OK.

I think Declan has ambitions to be more than a defensive midfielder in a great team. I think he is capable of more just needs to be in that type of team to see how much he can progress further.

Re: Declan Rice- game changer or bit of a disappointment?
Grumpster, this is the thing though, is Rice great because we play defensive and that is his thing so he looks miles better? Same with Southgate and England? Tbh and this is not knocking him but sometimes like the rest of this team his decision making when rarely in an attacking position is bad to say the least and I don't think he wants to be just a defensive midfielder.....I'd just like to see him actually playing for us in an attack minded team.....this would tell us how good he actually is.

At the moment he is fortunate to be playing in two set ups where his best known attributes thrive.

Re: Declan Rice- game changer or bit of a disappointment?
Blokes a defensive midfielder, its not his job to be a game changer.

Poor cunt plays under the 2 dullest managers going, so he'll be even better when he leaves us and plays for an attacking coach.

Our best player most weeks, so many clueless fans amongst our support.

he hasn't come close to being the best DM in the PL his year.

Couldn't see a top European team waning to sign him or even Pep.

Re: Declan Rice- game changer or bit of a disappointment?
Someone on this thread has actually said they don't rate him. And I genuinely don't think it was a wind up.

I'm not going to go into details explaining why Declan Rice is the player he is. He's not a match winner on his own. But he's a huge cog in what makes a team tick.

Would slide seamlessly into any team in the world right now. Real Madrid, Barca, Bayern, Juve, Napoli, Man City - He would improve all of those sides instantly.

He is, for me, the best DM in the world right now and it's not even close.

Without him we would be bottom of the league. End of.
